The sensory experience, products and new body therapy techniques combine to deliver a new experience in Britain, that offers an "escape to Bali" during an hour or two of body treatment. Ms. Gibbs has over 15 years experience in the spa and beauty industry throughout Europe and Asia. She focuses on management, training, operational flow and massage training techniques. Originally trained in England, she worked in naturopathic clinics, international spas and salons. Exploration and study of other therapy methods took her to Hong Kong ,Thailand and Indonesia. Honouring the history and traditions of Indonesia, Ms. Gibbs specialises in passing on the tradition and culture of age-old techniques. Her training and delivery techniques uniquely incorporate colour therapy, meditation, energy channelling and natural spa products with Asian therapies, meeting international standards and expectations. "Living and working in Asia has opened my eyes to different cultures and experiences. From the fast pace of living in Hong Kong, to the peaceful grace and softer energy of Thailand, there was much to learn. Finally, in Bali's tranquil environment, I learned patience, expression and a respect for time-honoured traditions which are a part of daily life there," said Ms. Gibbs. These lessons, incorporated with accomplishing the unique Asian therapy techniques, have led to her new vision of total sensory body therapy. Indonesians,

massage "strips" the muscle areas by pulling out the tension. Introducing colour and elements from nature into the treatment room, utilising incense to clear the energy and beginning therapy with meditation, to clear the mind, focus and channel energy, are only a few elements of Ms. Gibbs' strategy. Authentic and ornate ethnic artefacts to add interest points, coloured fabrics to brighten the experience, gentle ethnic music and "living in the moment" during the therapy, further delivers a sense of "the real Bali" to healing treatments. "I believe there is a place for this in the industry, which is why I am bringing it to the West. With a belief that the hands and a good heart can make a world of difference, I teach from my heart and honour the wonderful local remedies and traditions in my therapy work," said Ms. Gibbs. Introducing Indonesian-produced natural spa products further enhances the spa experience, capturing the scents and smells from the Spice Islands. It also supports Indonesian communities, shares cultural experience and awareness, and aids tourism by introducing concepts and elements from the tropical destination. Ms. Gibbs brings to the UK Essentials Spa Products, which are made entirely of pure and natural ingredients from the spice islands of Indonesia. They are blended with quality local and imported 100% pure essential oils, under direct foreign supervision. Most products are produced within the company's own workshop, at the foot of Temple, along Bali's southwest shore. Care is taken to guard the environment in each step of production. All products are handmade and carefully hand-packaged. Bottles are recycled or remoulded from used, crushed glass. All labeling, papers, packaging materials and boxes are handmade from natural, local fibres, including kapok, rice, grass and bamboo. No animal testing is conducted. Directly employing more than 100 people from the surrounding area ,Essentials generates income and livelihood for many, predominantly women, who otherwise could not provide support for their families. As product demand expands, more women are employed in remote villages on the neighbouring island of Java, to blend Essentials' recipes. This, again, develops additional cottage industry in low income areas, contributing to the welfare of entire villages. The more products sold, the more employment is created. Essentials primary products are Body Scrubs and Masques, Aromatherapy Oils and Soaps. Can the feeling of Bali truly be delivered in the West? "That's why I'm here," said Ms. Gibbs. "To share and teach lessons of therapy. Even if we just transport you for a few hours, it is a little escape from all the stress we all seem to live in. With the rich smells and sounds of the East, a gentle waft of incense and a new technique, we can take you to Bali for a while. "Maybe you will relive a visit once taken or want to explore the wonders of these islands. It will all add up to a wonderful experience and awareness that the spa industry is opening up to a whole new side of the world, and coming together in balance and harmony," concluded Ms. Gibbs. "It's a whole experience, not just a massage." |
