Gibbs Alison Gibbs has over 15 years experience in the spa and beauty industry throughout Europe and Asia. She focuses on management, training, operational flow and massage training techniques. Originally trained in England, she worked in naturopathic clinics, international spas and salons. Exploration and study of other therapy methods took her to Hong Kong, Thailand and Indonesia. She was Assistant Manager of Banyan Tree Spa, Bangkok, and Corporate Trainer for five Banyan Tree Resort spas. Moving to Bali, she was Spa Director for Aston Bali Resort and Spa, developing and opening a new resort spa. As a consultant for Collier-Collier Spa, she conducted training, concepts and designs for Javana Spa, Singapore; The Oberoi, Lombok; and Begawan Giri, Bali. Now an independent Trainer and Consultant, she focuses on traditional Asian treatments. Honouring the history and traditions of Indonesia, Alison specialises in passing on the tradition and culture of age-old techniques. With her initial relationship and the ongoing success of Begawan Giri Estate, over the past year Ms Gibbs is further developing the resort's therapy programs with "The Masters" programme. This includes Reiki Masters, Alternative Counselling, Past-Life Regression, Rebirthing, Balinese Healing, Pilates, Personal Training, Tai Chi, yoga, Yogia and Silat and traditional Indonesian martial arts. During this time, Ms. Gibbs' portfolio has grown to include clients such as Natura Resort & Spa, Ubud; Inter-Continental Resort, Bali and Jamu Spa at Alam Kulkul, Bali; and in Thailand: Banyan Tree Resorts and Regent Four Seasons, Chaing Mai. Alison's training and delivery techniques uniquely incorporate colour therapy, meditation, energy channelling and natural spa products with Asian therapies, meeting international standards and expectations. The next
phase of Alison's career will take her back to her native England, where
she will combine her focus in Asian treatments with delivery in a Western
environment. She aims to create a beautiful spa experience, which captures
the sense and aromas of the Indonesian spice islands, while introducing
Indonesian-made natural products, along with cultural experience and
awareness.
